OTTAWA (Reuters) - A suspended senator who was a former political ally of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper will go on trial in April, lawyers said on Tuesday, a move that could hurt the ruling Conservatives in an election set for October 2015. Senator Mike Duffy, a former high-profile television reporter who was a star performer for the right-leaning Conservatives, faces 31 criminal charges, including bribery and breach of trust.
