(Reuters) - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Monday that he wants to hold a summit meeting with China at the APEC regional leaders meeting to be held in November in Beijing. Abe, who has been in office since late 2012, has yet to hold a summit with China and ties between the two nations have been chilled by territorial disputes and Abe's visits to Tokyo's Yasukuni Shrine, seen as a symbol of Japan's past militarism because convicted war criminals are honored there along with war dead.
