Record Bid! Early Apple Computer Sells for Nearly $1 Million A rare Apple-1 computer built in Steve Jobs' garage in the summer of 1976 sold at auction this week for a record-breaking $905,000. The high price tag — almost double the original estimated value — makes this particular Apple-1 model the world's most valuable computer relic and the most expensive Apple computer ever sold, according to Bonhams Auction House, which handled the sale yesterday (Oct. 22) in New York. The Apple artifact now belongs to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.
