Canada March factory sales rise 0.4 percent, beat forecast

(Reuters) - Canadian factory sales climbed by 0.4 percent in March, the sixth gain in seven months, to a post-recession high, Statistics Canada said on Thursday. Sales rose in 11 of 21 industries, representing roughly two-thirds of the manufacturing sector. Overall constant dollar sales, relevant for calculating real gross domestic product growth, rose 0.5 percent.
